Throughout my life, I have struggled with my mental health. With that, I’ve spent a lot of time thinking about mortality and our purpose as human beings. What is the purpose of life? Wouldn't it be easier to cut things short? To “hang” it all up?
On this journey of chasing my dreams and getting into fashion, I’ve found a lot of purpose in designing and creative directing.
In fashion, you work a lot with clothing hangers. I wanted to show the connection between who I am, what I feel on the inside and the dream I am chasing.
It started with a laser-cut acrylic hanger. I wanted it to look as if there was just a piece of fabric hanging off of a hanger. Which, at its core, it literally is. Sharing the idea that at the end of the day, nothing is that serious. We are getting all worked up over a piece of fabric on a hanger.
