Most people are afraid to be themselves in their everyday lives.
I wanted to make an outfit inspired by the tension many people feel inside. The battle between being who you truly are and who you think you are supposed to be. Whom the world and societal and economic pressure tell you to be.
On the bottom, we have a giant circle skirt with ruching all up the front of it. The idea was to play on the idea of “Big D*ck Energy”. Pulling all the focus to the crotch. On top is an oversized button-up with paracord loops sewn on so you can wear it like a corset, open (like we did on the runway) or oversized. Made of two layers of twill, fused messily to create permanent folds and crinkles. We made sure to step on it right before we put it on, to make sure you get that authentic crushing feeling.
