When you think about streetwear, one of the first things to come to mind will likely be a hoodie. I have grown to love them; it allows you to redefine what “comfort” is. What does it look like? How does it make you feel? On the other hand, most people in high fashion hold no respect for sweats. They see it as a lazy way of wearing clothes.
I wanted to combine the two ideas and make what is, in my opinion, the perfect sweatsuit. Taking the classic zip-up sweater that has become such a huge part of my wardrobe. Double-facing it and stacking the sleeves (all tacked by hand) it gives a couture touch to a seemingly overdone silhouette. The sweatpants, then done in the same way. Using my favourite heavyweight fleece, I made them extra long and then gathered the fabric by hand.
