My design process always starts with an emotion. I ask myself “what emotion am I trying to not only illustrate, but hopefully share with the person looking at it?”
I’ve dealt with depression my entire life. With that, I’ve always tried to find a way to manifest the feeling of it through clothes. To me, I describe it as feeling gravity more than most. This is what I imagine gravity to look like. Being weighed down and having to push that extra bit to lift yourself up, to continue to move forward.
Made in the beautiful soft knit jersey I use for all of my t-shirts. It feels almost like a giant bed sheet. Fitted to the body, its designed to look like all the weight is at the bottom and being held up by your wrists and neck. Its about sharing how when you are in your low moments. You often forget to eat, and have a hard time functioning day to day.
