Handmade in Toronto using locally sourced materials
The T-shirt is the most redone item of clothing you can think of. I wanted to find a way to elevate it and make you rethink what a t-shirt can be. Throughout my life, drawing was a really important outlet for me to express what was in my head. The pressure, the tension I feel in my head. I kept drawing my face in spirals. I wanted to personify that in a dress. What is the most over looked item in your closet? Your black t-shirt… what do you look at everyday? Your face. I thought how do I try and personify dysphoria in a dress? How do I add tension to a t-shirt? Twist it and deconstruct it. That’s what I did. Each twist is hand placed and individually sewn on to give you that illusion of it being messy, despite being very intentional. Complete with a giant crystal on the neck courtesy of SAE Designs to combat the tension with good energy.
