AW25 - LOOK 11 Shimmer Hug Top and Draped Skirt Handmade in Toronto, using locally sourced materials
This journey of understanding my emotions has been… interesting. I realize that I experience a lot of highs and lows. Sometimes, it feels like I can’t even trust myself. Do I genuinely feel this way? Or do I think I should feel this way?
I experience such intense loneliness, that when I am with people and doing something I love. I light up like a ball of energy. That is the person a lot of people have come to know.
But when I am at home in my room in the suburbs. It feels like it is all an illusion.
One thing I have come to love is physical touch, especially hugs.
This look is inspired by that. I have always wanted to make a top that wraps the essentials and then flows into a pair of gloves. To me, it embodies the feeling of a hug. Wrapping tightly around all the parts of the body where you would mainly feel the sensation of a hug. Then the skirt, this one was a collaboration between @buttamulandelcore@desirediseiye and me. We made something that is both sexy, sporty, and glamorous. A see-through skirt, showing off your body underneath. Then has stacks on the hips that pull down the waistline to expose the waist. Complete with an exposed waistband to keep it true to the KENDRICK TRAN sporty aesthetic. Of course, all done in this amazing shimmer mesh. To illustrate the idea that at the end of the day. All we want as humans is to be seen.
